Rove: You’re not allowed to stand for re-election.
Bush: You have a plan to fix that, right?
Rove: But of course you personally are more popular than ever.
Bush: I knew it!
Rove: So the Grab Oil Party can always use your help to
defeat the Demoncrats.
Bush: Are we going to do something artistical?
Rove: No, artsy means the same as in photography—underexposed.
The problem is that we’ve been picking fights where we win in the
short run but lose in the long run.
Bush: You mean, winning more thoroughly, right?
Rove: Exactly. What we need to do to turn this around is to
pick a fight that we lose immediately.
