Do we vote for the best tennis player? No, we make them play tennis. But we vote for the best national leader, and experience shows that we’re not all that smart. Clearly a try-it-before-you-buy-it policy would help. With emerging presidential candidates providing the need and emerging invaded countries providing the solution, the idea is obvious. Anybody who can’t run a simple little nation like Iraq for a year certainly won’t be able to run the whole United States.
