More on Convoys in the Gulf of Aden

When I am king of the world, people will be more charitable. You will volunteer your reputation to help others. What does that mean in practice? Consider the navy’s viewpoint: If your mission is to patrol around and look scary, not much can go wrong. But if your mission is to protect shipping, you have to be at the top of your game to keep everybody in line, and when something does go wrong through the fault of wayward civilians, you’ll be blamed for it.

In my world, the silly calculus of reputation will vanish. Everything will be your fault no matter what.
