The 1984 Incident

Why did Amazon name its electronic book reader “Kindle”? I’ve always supposed it was the cover the weakness, since a book makes good kindling and an electronic device doesn’t. But maybe it was meant to refer to the Ministry of Burning Fervor, which is responsible for apathy toward DRM.
