Even a nonviolent revolution is a kind of war—the hard part is winning the peace afterwards, as many formerly Soviet countries have found. A revolution is generally needed only when you have a long tradition of bad government, so forming a new tradition from scratch is one of the steps. To do that properly requires a generation. But why do it properly? You need Government-in-a-Box, no longer new from the American forces in Afghanistan! It didn’t work there, so you know it won’t work for you! Short-circuit the chaos and return to the status quo faster than ever before!
