A threatened shortage of sensational headlines may send world
opinion into withdrawal shock, suggest experts. “Nuclear
catastrophe is the gold standard for terrifying journalism,”
explained headline copywriter Yellowcake Peril, “and the news
from Japan has been worsening at an alarming rate in recent
days.” Several experts confirm a high risk that this trend may
soon reverse as the plant is brought under control, and air
strikes in Libya are expected to compensate only partially.
“Terror optimization in difficult circumstances demands
care,” meandered Peril. “Increased mention of radiation
measurements and decreased explanation of what they mean
should slow the decay and help leave the correct impression.”
