9 December 2012 - standard mail

The U.S. Post Office’s term for junk mail is “standard mail”. It’s their
way of letting us know what we’re in for. Another honest term is “tax
code”. But departments for outsiders are named to confuse; consider
Customs Service and Central Intelligence Agency.
clue:
The original “U.S. Customs Service” no longer exists. The agency was
rolled into Homeland Security in 2003 and its responsibilities split up.
