24 February 2013 - lying to kids

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Double Paradox

In an international study, 84% of American parents and 98% of Chinese parents admitted lying to their kids in a futile attempt to get them to behave less like kids. So maybe the Chinese are less honest; it’s logically impossible to say you’re a liar if you aren’t. But consider: In both countries parents are fond of saying that your nose will grow longer if you lie. And in which country do the people have longer noses?
