Bob Dylan said “As far as songwriting, any idiot could do it. If you see me do it, any idiot could do it.” And later in the same interview he added, about one of his own compositions, “That’s a song that you could write a song to every line in the song.” The implications are immediately clear to most, but this is for idiots so I’ll spell it out. He’s saying that if you’re an idiot, you can write a song so good that it will give you material to keep on writing new songs forever.
