Surrender All Hope
A dysfunctional political system can’t reform itself. One with a big
army can’t be reformed from outside. All you can do is wait to see
whether it stays down or picks itself up.

Why aren’t Americans debating how to prevent gerrymandering or improve
primary elections or other steps to reduce needless political paralysis?
Presumably they know it’s hopeless—they couldn’t be ignorant, right?
