Science has proved that Europeans have larger brains than Africans, and
that as a result Europeans are stupider. The chain goes: At higher
latitudes there is less light, so to see well people need bigger eyes.
Then as a consequence they need a larger brain area devoted to visual
perception. But signal transmission takes time, so the larger brain
implies slower processing, so Europeans must be duller. QED.
clue:
The original study with the brain size claim was based on only 55 skulls,
so I wouldn’t call it “proof”. If it is true, I doubt that any difference
in visual perception speed would be large enough to measure. I’ve seen
the same idea used to explain Neanderthal brain sizes though: A little
larger than an average modern human.
