1 April 2014 - wolflike Russia

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

If you’re democratic for too long, you tend to forget how authoritarian leaders think.

Estonia: This is a definite danger for the Baltic states.
Latvia: The Russian information warfare reminds us of the Soviet invasion in 1940.
Lithuania: We want a larger presence of NATO forces as soon as possible.
Poland: The wolf may not be here yet, but he’s closing in fast.
Germany: Maybe, but self-defense seems so provocative. Isn’t it too dangerous?

clue:

The line I attributed to Lithuania is actually from Latvia, whose situation is a bit more precarious. The Poland line is from an essay by Michal Kaminski. The other two are modified from random news articles.

give me a clue so sweet and true
