27 February 2015 - Silk Road Economic Belt

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

The Silk Road Economic Belt, China’s infrastructure investment plan for central Asia, is a naval strategy. It’s not for nothing that the People’s Liberation Army Navy is called PLAN. By the time all the new railroads are running, China will be strong enough to invade Taiwan even if the U.S. sends carriers. But China can’t prevent a distant naval blockade, so they need overland transport. Do you remember back when strategy entailed understanding your enemies? Nope, me either.

clue:

Entirely my own idea. The usual thinking is that the Silk Road Economic Belt is only economic colonization.

give me a clue so sweet and true
