One last bit of evidence touches on alien life, the Fermi Paradox that arises because only crazy people ever meet space aliens. That may be because aliens are Lovecraftian and cause madness by their mere appearance, or because Earth yokels are great fun to hoax, or just because there are no space aliens. Without good signs, there is only one thing to do, which is to pick a view at random and defend it with your life.
