Blow Up the People Smugglers’ Boats

We must all admire Europe’s idealism. Even today, faced with the worst refugee crisis Europe has seen since WWII (when Europeans were the refugees and fled to the rest of the world), Europe insists on modeling universal human values, particularly the values hatred of strangers and fear of the poor.

Especially crazy since the people who cross the Mediterranean, the ones who can afford to pay thousands to criminals for a spot on an overcrowded boat that may or may not be sound enough for one trip, are necessarily well-off by the standards of north Africa. They are largely people who would do well in Europe if they had the chance.
