Logically speaking, a way exists to solve discrimination and still rely on human judgment: Correct the judgment. The unconscious biases are formed in large part by an automatic statistical classification of the environment with the goal of identifying ingroups and outgroups, a hierarchy of “people like me” for different situations. The social learning mechanism can be retrained by presenting it a new environment. In other words, first solve discrimination, then the rest is easy.
