Lack Of Confidence

Running the ship aground used to be a rite of passage for great American naval leaders, from Oliver Hazard Perry (court martialed and found innocent) to Chester Nimitz (found guilty of neglect of duty). In the modern navy, it gets you assigned to desk duty for the rest of your career, because people are correctly understood to be machines which do not learn. Uh oh, there’s a problem! They’ll have to change to keep up with the age of artificial intelligence.
