Fortunately, the boring building trend will not continue. The driving factor is the economics of making stuff, which will shift during this century. Machines will be able to execute complex irregular designs as cheaply as orderly ones, and will be able to fill in by themselves the rich and delightful details that no affordable team of modern artists and architects could complete.
