Crackpots are incurable, because their delusions come from within. We learn most knowledge from others, however. Most of the deluded chose poor sources to believe, such as Donald Trump or the wrong holy book. A self-reinforcing belief system is very stable, but surely it can be broken down over time if we encourage free inquiry and personal verification of statements. We’ll end up with more crackpots, who don’t join violent mass movements.
