Humans are a boasting species. An all-terrain vehicle cannot travel in all terrain. It can go down a steep cliff if you don't mind stopping at the bottom. And why would we boast if we did not sometimes believe our boasts? Maybe that is why we sometimes go down a steep cliff and stop at the bottom.
