Here's another Chinese plan for Taiwan. A global recession due to cutting off Taiwan's exports would hurt China too, so don't do it. Blockade the island, but allow exports to China. "Oh, your business will go under without trade? We can help. China will buy your stuff." And, of course, sell it on. Who thought war and profit would go so well together?
