Persistent hatred is easy to explain. Harm to the in-group counts. Harm to the out-group... maybe sometimes, but less and less as they go from insignificant to resisting your righteous actions. And we can't solve it by putting everyone into the in-group. The human social status system doesn't work that way. But misanthropes exist. We can solve it by keeping the in-groups to size one. Vote for me for king of the world!
