As democracy takes over elsewhere, an undercurrent of opinion grows in the U.S. that American democracy is failing. Fish in this current propose that budgeting power be given directly to the taxpayers, or that legislators be selected from the population by lottery, and other wacky schemes.

If you listen closely to these fishy people, you can hear them mumbling, “Democracy isn’t working. We need more democracy.”
