The Airborne Laser program’s slogan is “Peace through light,” because light makes right and right, at least from a right-wing perspective, has right-of-way.

Dave Barry is not making this up. If he were, he’d have mentioned that “Peace through light” would have made a good slogan for the Light Brigade.

Big Al Tennyson wrote a famous bad poem about the Light Brigade. They’re the 600 guys in the Crimean War who charged their horses into cannon fire and discovered at first hand what it’s like to meet with large pieces of flying metal.
