importing lark song,
we become haiku poets,
crashing Basho’s bash.

clue:

Larks, which sing in the morning, are a Western symbol of dawn. I’ve substituted the lark for Japan, the “land of the rising sun.”

Basho, 1644-1694, whose real name was Matsuo Munefusa, is reputed the greatest haiku master.

give me a clue so sweet and true
