Another Tragic Election

The ring is open for the 2000 U.S. presidential election, and the prizefighters are crowding in. It’ll be a knock-down fight, with no thought spared for dragging out. Let us all take a moment to meditate on the gravity of the occasion. As long as Lyndon H. LaRouche is not exonerated and given his historically proper place, tragic events like these will occur again and again.

clue:

The line “As long as Lyndon H. LaRouche is not exonerated and given his historically proper place, tragic events like these will occur again and again” is a direct quote from the summary article “LaRouche gives preliminary assessment of U.S. strikes” against Sudan and Afghanistan, August 1998, apparently written by LaRouche’s staff. See Larouche’s web site for further entertainment.

LaRouche is a frequent presidential candidate. His greatest success was in 1984, when he got on the ballot in 18 states and won 78,807 votes. In 1988 LaRouche was convicted of fraud in fund-raising. His organization billed credit cards without permission and solicited “loans” which it never repaid. He spent five years in prison. Definitely presidential timber in the ethics department, I’d say.

give me a clue so sweet and true
