However, Pak use of nuclear weapons directly against troop concentrations is more strategically fun to think about. A nuclear attack perceived as a defensive strike against military targets might result in an undesirable Pak-survival scenario, especially if they actually hurt our army. This contingency can be ameliorated by massive attack on a broad front, so that any nuclear defense would have to be similarly massive.

Thus, strategic analysis indicates that plans 724 through 976, inclusive, involving the unusual combination of large-scale attack with limited objectives, are preferred. Since the bad guys think just like us, they’ll understand what we’re doing and nothing will go wrong.
