24 August 2004 - Ted Kennedy 2

< yesterday -- tomorrow >

Al Qaeda boss: Conclusions from the Ted Kennedy case?
Al Qaeda strategist: The no-fly motel is definitely an opportunity.
boss: We could use aliases and get every senator’s name on the list.
strategist: No, senators can get off, at least sometimes. A better plan is to hit a large number of common names that many people have. We could plant bombs in the luggage of a few hundred schmoes, and the whole system would grind to a halt when they got listed.
boss: But would they catch the bombs?
strategist: Good point, bombs might pass screening. We’d better plant nail clippers.
boss: Engraved ones would be convincing.
strategist: Agreed. Now the question is, do we execute this plan, or is it more effective to leak it like the last few?
