Proposed Self-Motivational Lies for Inventors

1. If only I can solve Thingy, my name will be eternal. A Newton-Einstein collaboration couldn’t beat me to it.
2. Aristotle understood Thingy perfectly. I can figure it out.

Did you ever notice how much easier it is to figure something out when somebody else already knows it? But in that case, why bother?
