Ancient technology and ancient social interactions were improvisational in nature: You knew the idea, and you fiddled with it until it worked. Laws are still made that way, except for the “until it works” part, but modern technology and large organizations thrive on thorough planning and rigid routines. And no matter how much we fiddle with that, it won’t work.
