Old time technologies, from the horse cart to the airplane, improved on walking. Modern technologies, from the telephone to the internet, improve on talking, as is appropriate for an animal that has never learned to shut up. Future technologies will improve on thinking. You might suppose it would be easy to improve on a skill so weak, but then again, it does require thought.
