Knowing What You’re Getting Into

Risk aversion has degrees of severity. Total risk aversion is what causes totalitarian governments to fall. Aversion to perceived risk is what causes NASA to extensively model their rockets and then skimp on the hardware to validate the models. Aversion to actual risk is what causes you to go out and take risks.
