Reading a newspaper, at least when I do it right, is like climbing the wall into the garden where events make sense. I throw up the rope and—alright, who cooked my grappling noodle? Next thing you know, it will be my goose! I usually don’t make it over into the green place, and that’s good. Everything makes sense in there because there’s no context.
