1. The printer had never been invented. By now, paperwork would be obsolete.
2. Paper had never been invented. If we’d had to make do with slate and chalk, bureaucracy would never have taken off.
3. Writing had never been invented. We wouldn’t be constantly building things too complex to understand.
4. Intelligence had never evolved. We wouldn’t be so confused.
