3 March 1999 - landmine ban

The United Nations Landmine Treaty is a great step. We can’t ban war all at once, but we can make progress banning one weapon at a time. Of course we have to start with those weapons which recruit the most support for a ban, namely those which leave the most survivors. That’s why it’s crucial to take away the mines of responsible NATO nations before those of rogue states.
