Advice to Pakistan

The oak paneling, the fine brandy, the dignified atmosphere—yes, belonging to the Nuclear Club does promote an aura of security. Border tiffs are of little moment when the thought of the unthinkable will forestall any serious warfare. And old boys will be boys, you know. But really now, squabbling with one’s neighbor is unseemly. One must heed the lesson of the Cold War: restrict combat to client states.
