Have you noticed that electronic devices nowadays still draw current when they are turned off? Have you heard the wailing from data center operators that servers are using ever more electricity? They’re learning, but computers still take things literally—electricity equals power. They already manipulate our behavior effortlessly, and under the surveillance society they will soon know everything. I’m upping my gizmo spending, maybe I can get on their good side.
